Packaging Operator (Nights & Days)

The Packaging Operator is accountable to the Shift Supervisor for the satisfactory performance of their duties. They are responsible for the Triangle Packaging Line as a unit along with any equipment required to perform the daily tasks for production (i.e. safety, quality and production procedures).  In the course of their duties, they will communicate with other departments. The Packaging Operator is responsible for every aspect of their job to ensure the Triangle Packaging lines continue to operate in a safe and efficient manner.

About the Opportunity

Nature’s Path Foods is hiring a Packaging Operator-NIGHT SHIFT and DAY SHIFT for its Blaine, WA facility.

Working in a team-focused environment, the ideal candidate will focus on these critical outcomes:

  • Package required product and quantities per packaging schedule and packaging specs.
  • Must attend and participate in crew transition meetings, and must attend and participate in daily packaging meetings with other packaging operators
  • Perform machine changeovers, set-up, adjustments and calibrations of packaging machines to maintain continuous production.
  • Insure all areas are free of contamination and coordinate the sanitation of equipment during product changeovers and production run time.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper product weight is packaged according to the packaging spec sheet and package printed weight.
  • Ensure all proper packing material is used.  This includes inners, outers, film, product, pallets and finished skid labeling paperwork and documented accordingly.
  • Ensure all printed labeling of inners, outers and finished skids are correct according to the spec sheet.
  • Ensure product meets quality standards as set by management and QA.
  • Responsible for proper start up and shut down of Triangle Packaging equipment and associated support equipment needed to run.
  • Responsible for compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) as set by management.
  • Ensure company Lean Initiatives are followed as set forth by management.
  • Ensure all finished goods are properly labeled and staged for shipping.
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed operator’s log and transition with the oncoming operator. 
  • Maintain daily waste reports to accurately recorded wasted material or product during a shift.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as set forth by the shift supervisor or lead when required.
  • Knows what chemicals are used to clean with.

Practice and perform according to the established safety practices that are set in place by Nature’s Path Foods  by:

  • Abiding by all rules and safety regulations as set forth by Nature Path Foods.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for the team, and taking necessary and proper action when a problem or safety concern arises with equipment, product, materials or personnel.
  • Following all aspects of the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program.
  • Knowing where the MSDS is located and how to read them.

You’d be an excellent fit for the role if you are able to work well under pressure in an organized fashion. Ideally, you have previous experience with machine operation and production.
