About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Business Solutions will execute the company’s technology plans in collaboration with peers to grow the organizations automation and technology footprint by developing, planning, organizing, and managing projects that demonstrate positive business value in alignment with organizational goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, strategy, and operations oversight of new and innovative technology solutions and the management of vendors and sourcing partners that provide business solutions to the company.  The Director, Business Solutions will have a track record of demonstrable technology change, increasing financial responsibility, and the ability to translate business needs into technology and process solutions for a manufacturing company.

Critical outcomes for this role include:

  • Provide leadership as it relates to business solutions projects, associated capital and operational expenditures, reporting, and ERP applications
  • Understanding system design to assist with the coordination, testing, documentation and roll out of business solutions, enhancements, and reporting solutions
  • Work with staff, consultants and executive management to identify and design best practices with regards to financial, sales and manufacturing systems automation
  • Identifies and manages enhancements to the applications portfolio, including IFS, Manufacturing systems, EDI solutions, and collaboration and productivity systems. Provides strategic input to the Nature’s Path management team regarding business solutions and business process improvement to drive business innovation through the use of a digital strategy and industry disruptive solutions
  • Defines and develops internally identified cross application dash-boarding, reporting and visualization capabilities to drive efficiencies into the organization through self-service applications and systems
  • Define and implement business process enablement in order to enable process agility, facilitate change management and to streamline transactions across complex integrations throughout the manufacturing functions
  • Defines and implements policies surrounding the technology infrastructure, desktop and field device requirements in order to ensure effective utilization of budget and capital
  • Aligns business risk management, policies and practices as it pertains to cyber security, protection of network communications, change management controls, integrity, control and maintenance of data and data transfers throughout the enterprise in order to mitigate vulnerabilities and cyber attacks
  • Creates and submits to senior management business cases for the implementation of business solutions in support of other functional groups or cross functional initiatives

Success in this role will require:

Education

  • Accounting designation is required (CA, CPA, or CMA)
  • Business degree (MBA or equivalent) with experience in Management Information Systems is an assetInsights Certification (preferred)

Experience

  • Financial and business acumen where experience bridges technology and the business organization through process and systems 
  • Strong analytical skills and extensive experience interpreting a strategic vision and executing it into a workable, operational business model
  • Strong understanding of how a manufacturing business operates, understanding what makes solutions successful and ability to implement change in short iterative sprints
  • Ability to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values to external and internal stakeholders.
  • Past experience managing outsourcing vendors to positive outcomes
  • Ability to lead and direct teams to achieve department/organization metrics and initiatives
  • Knowledge of and ability to use processes, tools and techniques for exploring and evaluating process alternatives to provide efficiencies and innovation within department and organization as a whole
