People and Culture Manager – Que Pasa

About the Opportunity
This role will be accountable for the overall planning, management, and direction of all plant People, Culture and Mission functions including recruitment, payroll and benefit oversight, compensation at a facility level. As a member of the plant management team, the People and Culture Manager will work with plant leaders in the areas of strategy development, short- and long-term planning, project management, training, health and safety and operational excellence to meet strategic objectives.

Critical Outcomes for this Role Include:

Creating a formal and clear overall Human Resources and Strategic Plan that effectively supports the objectives and vision of Nature’s Path Foods by:
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies related to team members and their working environment. Using consultative, hands on, as well as strategic approach ensuring all policies meet the needs of team members, business objectives & government requirements

To ensure that Que Pasa Management is meeting or exceeding all legislated regulations by:

  • Providing advice and counsel on best practices in the human resource field, solutions to various human resource issues and direction in human resources for contemplated changes
  • Ensuring that team members are being trained to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
  • Ensuring that there is a safe and healthy work environment through support of the plant health, safety and wellness program

Developing Managers and Team Members to meet Nature’s Paths current and future people needs by:

  • Setting a personal example in leadership, as ‘servant leader’ and supporting Managers and Team Leaders to coach in a way consistent with the “Nature’s Path Way”.

Respectfully and capably representing the best interests of Nature’s Path in all internal and external dealings:

  • Building and maintaining a high performing team of human resources professionals who are capable of delivering results effectively and efficiently.
  • Motivating, guiding, and directing all staff to contribute to their maximum to the realization of Nature’s Path Foods’ goals and objectives. 
  • Defusing conflicts within a diverse workforce, focusing on team development 
  • Having an active interest and understanding of the production environment 

Success in this role will require:

Education

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree; preferably in Human Resource or a related field

Experience

  • CHRP designation an asset
  • 5 – 8 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Experience with payroll support and benefit administration. ADP experience a plus
  • Experience in food production/manufacturing sector an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
