About The Opportunity

The Learning & Development Specialist will design, develop, and implement learning programs which support the professional development of our team members. This includes developing custom courses, partnering and sourcing vendors, facilitation, coordination, implementation and evaluation of learning activities.

Critical outcomes for this role include:

  • Program Development & Facilitation:
    • Identifies and develops core curriculum paths for all team members, and leadership levels within the company, and delivers core learning programs.
    • Creates training content by working with third-party vendors and in-house SMEs to develop learning objectives and a relevant curriculum.
    • Facilitates team development sessions (e.g. Insights), and customized sessions as requested.
    • Administers psychometric instruments and surveys to analyze individual and group behavior (e.g. Insights, 360 instruments).
    • Provides coaching support and resources for managers to help them develop learning & development plans and have meaningful career conversations.
    • Partners with operations in the US and Canada as advisor to support plant training programs and execution of corporate programs.  
  • Provide learning support as follows:
    • Coordinates logistics, scheduling, and communication on all learning, talent and culture events in Richmond location.
    • Conducts our training needs analysis
    • Be a visible member of the People, Culture and Mission team and seen as a trusted business partner for managers and team members related to training and development activities and change initiatives.
    • Provide coaching to managers and teams to support leadership development, organizational change and business transformation activities.
    • Work with the People, Culture and Mission Department to be part of a high performing team of People, Culture and Mission professionals who are capable of delivering results effectively and efficiently

Success in this role will require:

Education

  • Post-secondary education 
  • Insights Certification (preferred)
  • Adult education courses or programs (preferred)

Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • HR background
  • Advanced facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Curriculum design skills including, experiential learning, and use of elearning and online methods
  • Experience designing customized sessions to teams.
  • Excellent customer service skills to meet the requests of our team members.
